Public Works Projects:
AXIOM has provided
excellent engineering design services for numerous public works projects
which required design services by civil/structural, architectural,
electrical ,
mechanical,
plumbing, fire alarm and IT professionals.
For many of those
projects, AXIOM has primed and led the project team from preliminary
engineering, PSR development to preparation of project Plans,
Specifications and Cost Estimates (PS&E), and Construction
Administration/Management.
Transportation Projects:
Caltrans
Projects
Axiom Engineering & Science, as the prime consultant, is providing
construction management support services
and
specialty inspection services to
Caltrans District 7
throughout Los Angeles County.
We are providing technical, functional and all other support services
to District 7. Our responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
electrical inspection, landscape inspection, SWPPP
inspection, safety inspection, Project Controls, CCO desk support, labor
complience support, contract administration, and office engineering. We
have prepared, negotiated, and processed CCOs, as well as, prepared
history files and sample and test materials for quality assurance. Our
personnel have reviewed and inspected traffic control systems for lane
closures. We are preparing and processing all documentation, including
progress pay estimates, change orders, CPM Scheduling,
Claims Review / Avoidance, daily reports, filing, drafting
correspondence, training and etc.
Our
personnel are working on various shifts to fulfill the contract needs.
All personnel have been trained in safety procedures and are equipped
with safety equipment. All Assistant Resident Engineers assigned to this
project are knowledgeable in SWPPP. Projects include I-10, I‑605,
and SR-60.
Metro
Redline Projects
The purpose of the
project is to enhance the accessibility to the Metro Redline
by
physically challenged individuals who wish to take the public transit
system as transportation for work and travel around the City of Los
Angeles. The project involves designing necessary facilities for the
installation of eight new elevators at four Metro Redline stations
located in downtown L.A. The facilities involves construction of large
elevator shaft up to 20ft by 20ft in plan dimensions and 45 feet deep
and a tunnel of 120 feet in length with 16-1/2 feet ID.
Because of the
stations are located in a busy metropolitan area, various social,
economical, political and engineering factors have presented significant
challenges to the project. New elevators at Civic Center and Pershing
Square Stations are to be constructed in extremely tight spaces. New
shafts and tunnels are required for these two stations in order for the
elevators to function as required by the project.
Due to the various
constraints,
the
conventional construction methodology for elevator shafts and tunnels is
not economically feasible. An innovative approach in design and
construction is necessary. Special considerations was given by the
design team to incorporate creative construction methodology in the
design to ensure project constructability.
